P-S: How old were you when you first realized that you were a Psychic? How did you know you had these abilities?

our talented psychics: DianeDiane: Well, I was late in realizing that I was "psychic". However, I was deeply spiritual and spiritually aware since birth. I’ve always remembered what I thought when I was born, which was that I didn’t want to be here again on earth. I knew that when I wasn’t here and was "there" (on a higher level or, as many people call it, "on the other side"), I was with God. I’ve always felt a connection to the Divine. I also knew that when I was there I had absolute knowledge, which I wouldn’t have here on earth – and that bothered me. However, I knew that I was supposed to be here because I had something I was supposed to do on earth.

I grew up spiritually aware and fascinated by metaphysics and psychic phenomena. I just thought that other people were psychic, not me. In grad school, I started using tarot cards and I Ching, but still didn’t see myself as intuitive.

I was in a Mastermind group in the late 80s and early 90s and the teacher, a psychically sensitive and spiritually aware woman, told me one day, “You should be spiritual counselor.” Well, I thought that was crazy, because I simply didn’t see myself as having that ability.

It wasn’t until my 40s that I really developed my intuition and started doing readings. I was quite surprised by the positive feedback I was receiving because I didn’t see myself as intuitive. So it took me a few years before I began to accept the fact that I am indeed intuitive – and strongly intuitive.

Since then, looking back on my life, I’ve realized that I was always inner guided. (Tapping into our inner knowing is one way of beginning to develop intuition.)

I’ve realized that my abilities have their own particular strengths and I embrace them. And this is one thing that I teach to others when I teach intuition: that we all have our own particular forms of intuition and strengths with it. It’s definitely not “one size fits all.” And we should embrace and develop what our own strengths are.

Now – after working professionally as an intuitive for over 17 years -- I can’t imagine not using my intuition on a regular basis! It’s simply a part of who I am.

P-S: You are a medium; can you please tell us more about your specialties?

Diane: I have several specialties. First of all, I’m quite expert at reading people (getting on their wavelength) and situations. I have an unusual specialty of reading a person’s Essence, who a person uniquely is on the inside and on the deepest level, underneath any inauthentic stuff layered over that. (This is important, because when we are living from our Essence and expressing it through activities in our life, it not only is hugely positive for us, but it can also points us fairly directly to what our purpose is.) When I read a person’s Essence, I kinesthetically FEEL their essence, as if a part of myself and consciousness actually enters their energy field and feels it. (In fact, I’ve had a few people tell me they could feel me in their energy when I was doing this.)

In addition to kinesthetically feeling and reading people’s Essence and energy, I also receive information. In fact, there are times when my information comes from a spontaneous interweaving of kinesthetically feeling and receiving information, and I can’t separate them from each other.

Because of my ability to read people, I have a strong ability to read relationships, whether love, family, friends, or children and give clients both insight and recommendations accordingly. (Because I feel a need to be of assistance to others with my readings, I rarely give information without also giving non-invasive recommendations.)

When reading relationships, I also specialize in reading what the soul connections may be between people, both intrinsic soul connections and past connections in previous lifetimes. This can be quite significant when looking at present relationships, because soul connections will often color present relationships. For example, just because we may have a strong soul connection with someone else, this doesn’t necessarily mean that we’re supposed to be with them permanently in the present lifetime.) I can also get information on soul agreements that have relevance for present-time relationships.

I also have a strong ability to read situations, which again I feel kinesthetically, and make recommendations.

I specialize as well in personal and spiritual growth. I have a unique ability to sense and feel where people are in their personal process and make recommendations for their unfolding. I also bring other modalities into my work to help effect this, such as Guided Meditation, Regression, Dream Work, and Natural Process healing. I love doing individualized Guided Meditations for others because it can trigger huge energy shifts and inner healing.

Connected to this is another specialty of mine, which is reading and assisting with Life Path. I feel that one of the major reasons we’re here on earth is to learn and grow. By doing so, we advance on our Life Path.

Career is another specialty I have, which is connected with the above. It’s so very important for people to enjoy their career, if at all possible.

One area I also specialize in – and love to work with – is Dream Interpretation and Dream Work. Dreams have so much to tell us and can help us tremendously on our path. Many people find dreams bizarre and confusing, but I’ve always found that when you tease out their meaning(s), they usually make sense. We could all be using our dreams as a tool in our lives.

I also have an ability to tap into passed-on loved ones. While I’m not a medium in the sense of loved-ones taking over my body and speaking through me, I have the ability to sense where someone is on the other side and what he or she is up to, as well as any messages or feelings for the person I’m reading. Interestingly, I usually find that the passed-on loved one is in his or her higher soul awareness, rather than the personality of the previous lifetime.

My work is so geared around facilitating others on their path. So I do as much as I can to bring this about. Sometimes I will recommend a particular modality to a client, both ones I do not do (such as energy healing) and those I do do. For example, I may give a client customized affirmations or do a spontaneous exercise (that I may create on the spot).

I don’t do the same work with every client. Everyone is unique and what I recommend or do is uniquely for that client at that time in his or her life. Many clients come to me from time to time for me to assess where they are in their process and what I recommend for them at that time.

I have seen so many clients unfold and progress over time – and become happier and more fulfilled!

P-S: Please tell us how the information comes through for you? Do you use any tool?

Diane: No, I don’t use any tools. I simply use my intuition, which I’ve honed over the years. Basically I do what I call “tuning in” to get information. This means that I close my eyes, take some deep breaths, and go to a deeper level of consciousness. This is where I access my intuition and information.

As mentioned above, when I’m reading a client’s Essence or energy, I tune into them and feel them. I also receive information. My information, interestingly, can come in several different forms – from a “sense” or impression, to words or phrases, to feelings, to visual images, to colors, to feelings, to bodily sensations. However it comes in, I feel, is how it’s supposed to come in and I’m open to receiving information in different forms.

In a session, I am usually going back and forth between regular consciousness and tuning in – up and down, and back and forth.

I always strive to make sure that my client understands what I am getting and what I’m communicating and I answer any questions they have. I want to make sure that a client is on the same page. Otherwise, what I communicate won’t do them any good!

P-S: I’m sure you have a special experience to tell us about. Would you like to share it with our readers?

Diane: There have been so many special experiences with my clients over the years that it’s hard to think of just one! I do remember one incident back in the 90s when a client asked me about her daughter. I got different information on her daughter and then got that she would get pregnant in about six weeks. A couple of months later, my client contacted me and told me that her daughter was indeed pregnant – and had just gotten pregnant when we had spoken. My client found out about her daughter’s pregnancy six weeks after we spoke, so that’s where the six weeks had come from.

In fact, timing in sessions with future events can be quite tricky. Based on the feedback I’ve had from clients over the years, my timing is all over the place. Sometimes it’s dead on, sometimes in advance, and sometimes later. Timing can be tricky!

The most meaningful feedback I’ve gotten from clients – and I’ve received it over and over again from so many of them – is that I helped them transform their lives. Yes, I’ve also received consistent feedback about how accurate I am, but the feedback that I’ve helped people is the most meaningful to me.

P-S: Are you going to be teaching a workshop? Can you tell us about it?

Diane: I’d love to teach two workshops initially: one on developing intuition and the other, on understanding and working with dreams. Both intuition and dreams are so very important for us to be working with in our lives, and I feel a need to teach these to others. They’re very empowering!

I’ve been teaching both Intuition and Dreams for over 14 years now and love doing it. In my workshops, I do some presentation and then we do several exercises. Often participants learn as much from hearing what others have experienced as they do from their own experiences.

I like to use a casual, friendly, and intimate sharing environment in my workshops and teleseminars. Participants are encouraged to be comfortable and share with others.

P-S: Do you have words of wisdom or advice that will help people who are going through hard times?

Diane: Yes, please know that, even though you may be experiencing a lot of pain, you’re not doomed to stay stuck in pain. You will come through this and probably emerge stronger and happier. By understanding what this may have to do with on a higher level and what you stand to gain from it, you can know that the future can be positive.

We’ll often find that there is some message we’re being given in those hard times. That message may often be that we need to shift in some way and grow. By allowing ourselves to realize this and to allow ourselves to grow, we can gain great things. If we resist what are to experience and learn, we may prolong the pain. So knowing that it really is happening for a reason can help us through the process.

The difficulty will end! And positive things can lie ahead! Please believe this, because it’s definitely true.

P-S: You are as concerned as we are about protecting our planet. Can you tell us what you personally do to lead a greener life?

Diane: Good question! I have been recycling now for over 30 years and I continue to. I also compost food and take my own bags to the grocery store. I even reuse the plastic bags one gets in the produce department. (To me, it’s so wasteful to take them home and just throw them away after one use.) I reuse as much as I can at home, instead of discarding it and replacing it. I also unplug appliances when not in use.

I have two radio shows, "Vibrant Living" on Webtalkradio.net and "Vibrantly Green with Diane Brandon" on Ecology.com. The latter show is all about green topics and I regularly cover green topics in the former show.

To me, doing what we can to protect the planet is the right thing to do ethically! We are not the only beings on this planet – although humans at times may feel that they are or that they’re the superior ones. We share this planet with many lovely and aware beings. I feel it’s important to respect and honor all living beings, as well as the planet and its beauty as well. I try to tread lightly on the planet and feel a connection with all that is outside of me, to the best of my ability.

P-S: One last thing, we are having a love story contest, would you like to tell us yours?

Diane: My goodness! This is a little difficult as I’ve had several situations with clients where I’ve described the person I felt they were going to be with and they ended up meeting the person. So it’s hard to isolate just one experience. I will say this, though: when I get information on a future relationship, I rarely get physical descriptions (eye color, height, etc.). What I get instead is what the person is like on the inside – good sense of humor, reliable, warm heart, etc. Of course, I feel that what we’re like on the inside is so much more important in a relationship than what the person looks like! (As long as there’s chemistry, of course!)
